The Consider Z user preference option allows users to choose whether or not Z axis information is considered during data cleaning, data creation and topology construction tools.

When the Consider Z option is enabled, element Z values will participate in the calculations of the following tools:

• Find Duplicate Lines
• Find Fragments
• Thin Linear Elements
• Segment Linear Elements
• Find/Repair Gaps
• Find/Repair Dangles
• Connect Line Work
• Validate Topology
• Find Slivers
• Find Similar Line Work

When the Consider Z option is enabled the following tools create data at an appropriate Z elevation:

• Create Shapes
• Create Centroids
• Generate Zones
